So what is the difference between the DRX9000TM and the Triton® DTS?   In my opinion, and as far as my patients are concerned, the price. According to Axiom Worldwide, the makers of the DRX9000TM, their machine and their machine alone offer "true spinal decompression";  and technically, they are completely correct.  The reason I don't dispute this is because the manufacturer of the DRX9000TM machine obviously has a brilliant marketing department; they actually named the machine the "DRX9000TMTrue Spinal DecompressionTM System".   This full "name" rarely goes unmentioned on any advertisement for the machine.

Nevertheless, as far as the FDA's "classification" and "common name" for both machines is concerned, they are the same for the DRX9000TM, http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/pdf6/K060735.pdf , as they are for the Triton®  DTS, http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/pdf5/K053223.pdf.   This is one of the main points I based my decision on to purchase the Triton® DTS over the DRX9000TM. Granted the DRX9000TM is gorgeous and it comes with some bells and whistles.  It also comes with a tremendous price tag.  That price is then often passed on to the consumer. Admittedly, the Triton® DTS costs less then DRX9000TM.  However, when I chose the Triton® DTS over the DRX9000TM, it wasn't because of what it would cost me, but rather would it work just as well as the other machines and what would it cost my patients.  I prefer to find ways to offer services for a reasonable fee than be forced to charge thousands and thousands of dollars. Additionally, The Triton® head is so revolutionary that it won the 2006 Australian Design Award in the "Medical and Scientific" category.  It is also the system that the University of Texas recently purchased for the treatment of its world-class athletes. I can honestly say the Triton® DTS machine has worked fantastic and it has gotten exceptional results for my patients. It has worked so well I now purchased a second system for my office.
